Mr. Zacharias has served on the board of directors since June 2014 and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of W. P. Carey, Inc., a publicly traded REIT that owns and manages a global diversified portfolio of net lease assets with an enterprise value of approximately $11 billion. Additionally, he serves as Chief Operating Officer of two non-traded publicly registered REIT’s in the Corporate Property Associates series managed by W. P. Carey with over $7.5 billion in primarily net lease assets, and as Chief Operating Officer of two Carey Watermark funds with nearly $4 billion in assets. Prior to joining W. P. Carey in 2002, Mr. Zacharias was a Senior Vice President of MetroNexus, a Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds Enterprise and was a Principal at Lend Lease Development U.S., a global real estate investment management company and subsidiary of Lend Lease Corporation. Between 1981 and 1998, he was an investment officer at Corporate Property Investors, a private equity REIT sponsored by Lazard Frères that was merged into Simon Property Group in 1998 for $5.8 billion. Mr. Zacharias received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Yale School of Management.
